The Simplex 4100-9863 is a TCP/IP physical-layer bridge card configured for Class B network operation on the Simplex 4100 platform. It lets a 4100-series fire alarm node share a TCP/IP-based site network.
First, the bridge card installs in the 4100 host node. Then, it converts the panel’s network data to a TCP/IP physical interface. As a result, the panel can interconnect with other 4100 nodes across an IP-capable backbone.
Where the Simplex 4100-9863 is used
Use the 4100-9863 when a 4100-platform job calls for a Class B (single-path) TCP/IP physical bridge. Therefore, it suits multi-building campuses and large facilities that already carry a managed network capable of life-safety segmentation.
Typical applications
- Networking 4100-series fire alarm nodes over an IP backbone
- Sites where a Class B (non-redundant) topology is acceptable
- Multi-building campuses with managed network infrastructure
Compatibility and ordering
Use only with Simplex 4100-series fire alarm control nodes. In addition, the network team should confirm IP topology, VLAN, and supervisory monitoring before the install. Please contact our team for application help.
