The Simplex 4906-9207 is an amber-lens, multi-candela ceiling-mount visual notification appliance in a white housing. The amber lens is used for non-fire mass-notification or supervisory alerts.
First, the appliance mounts to a ceiling back-box. Then, the host Simplex panel drives the visual on the appropriate notification circuit. As a result, amber strobe signaling distinguishes mass notification or supervisory events from fire alarms (which use red lenses).
