The Edwards 757-3A-RS70 is a 30-candela re-entrant speaker-strobe in red, designed for 70 V fire-alarm audio risers. Specifically, it is part of the Integrity 757 Series, which uses a compression-driver re-entrant speaker for higher output than the cone-type models. As a result, you get a louder voice and tone signal in the same housing footprint.
First, the 757-3A-RS70 carries a compression driver with an 8-ohm voice coil and sealed construction. Then a built-in DC blocking capacitor allows the panel to electrically supervise the audio distribution circuit. Therefore, the speaker is correctly supervised on a standard 70 V audio riser.
Wattage Taps and Sound Output
Furthermore, the 757-3A-RS70 is field-selectable for 2, 4, 8, or 15 watt operation. As a result, the installer can balance output against branch loading without changing devices. In addition, the high-efficiency driver produces a loud 98 dBA at 15 watts in a reverberation room (UL 1480 method).
Specifically, the speaker-strobe dBA output per tap is:
- 2 W — 87 dBA
- 4 W — 90 dBA
- 8 W — 95 dBA (UL 1480 average 91.8 dBA)
- 15 W — 98 dBA (UL 1480 average 94.1 dBA)
UL 1971 and UL 1638 Strobe Ratings
Also, the integrated strobe is UL 1971-listed at 30 cd wall mount and 15 cd ceiling mount. In addition, it is UL 1638-listed at 30 cd as a protective visual signaling appliance. Therefore, the device qualifies for both public-mode life-safety and private-mode protective signaling use cases.
Synchronized Flash
Furthermore, the 757-3A-RS70 synchronizes at one flash per second. As a result, multiple strobes on the same circuit flash together when paired with an external synchronization source. Compatible sync sources include G1M-RM, SIGA-CC1S, SIGA-MCC1S, SIGA-CC2A, SIGA-MCC2A, BPS6A, BPS10A, APS6A, APS10A, and Fireshield Plus 3/5/10-zone panels.
Operating Voltage
Specifically, the speaker accepts 70 VRMS audio. Then the strobe runs on 16 to 33 VDC continuous (not pulsed). In addition, a diode allows full signal-circuit supervision.

Mounting
Specifically, the 757-3A-RS70 flush-mounts to the Edwards 960A-4SF flush box. Therefore, no separate trim plate is required. Also, surface and weatherproof mounting use Edwards’s color-matched accessory boxes:
- 757A-SB — indoor surface box, red
- 757A-WB — weatherproof outdoor surface box, red
- 757A-BDF — bi-directional mounting frame, red
Lens Markings
However, the unit ships with “FIRE” wall-orientation markings. Therefore, ceiling-mount or alternate-language installations need an LKW or LKC lens kit (e.g., LKC-1 for ceiling “FIRE”, LKW-2 for “FEU”, LKW-3 for bilingual “FIRE/FEU”, LKW-4 for “SMOKE”, LKW-7 for “EMERGENCY”).
