Edwards (757A-SB) Surface box – indoor, red

The Edwards 757A-SB is the indoor surface-mount back box for the Integrity 757 Series speakers, speaker-strobes, and horn-strobes. Specifically, it converts any 757 Series appliance from flush mount to surface mount on a finished wall. As a result, you get a clean color-matched installation where running conduit behind the wall is impractical.

First, the 757A-SB is finished in red epoxy that matches Edwards’s standard red 757 appliances. Then the appliance’s mounting plate fastens to the back box, and the front grille assembly snaps over the plate. Therefore, the installer can wire and inspect the appliance before final attachment.

Furthermore, the 757A-SB carries the full range of 757 Series surface-mount applications. Specifically, this includes:

• Cone-type Integrity speakers (757-1A-S25 / -S70)
• Cone-type Integrity speaker-strobes (757-5A / -7A / -3A / -4A / -8A -SS25 / -SS70)
• Re-entrant Integrity speakers (757-1A-R25 / -R70)
• Re-entrant Integrity speaker-strobes (757-7A / -3A / -8A -RS25 / -RS70)
• Integrity temporal horns (757-1A-T)

Indoor Use Only

However, the 757A-SB is for INDOOR installations only. Therefore, outdoor or wet-location installations should specify the 757A-WB weatherproof box instead. Also, the white-finish equivalent for indoor use is the 757A-SBW.

Conduit Knockouts

Specifically, the back box features combination ½-inch and ¾-inch conduit knockouts on the top, bottom, and back faces. As a result, you can run conduit into the box from any of three faces without external transitions.

Also, the 757A-SB is not the bi-directional mounting frame; that is the 757A-BDF (red) or 757A-BDFW (white).
