The Altronix AL1024ULX is a UL 294 and UL 1481 dual-listed 24VDC power supply and charger. Specifically, it supplies 10 A continuous for access-control use, or 8 A continuous for fire protective signaling.

First, the AL1024ULX converts 115VAC, 60Hz mains into a single 24VDC, non-power-limited output. Then, an integrated charger maintains a sealed lead-acid or gel backup battery. In addition, the supply transitions to battery on AC loss. As a result, life-safety and access-control loads stay powered during outages. Therefore, the AL1024ULX is widely used in NAC extender, mag-lock relock, and supplemental fire-system power applications.

Dual-Listed: Access vs. Fire Output Ratings

Furthermore, the AL1024ULX carries different continuous-current ratings depending on its end use. Specifically, the unit is rated 10 A continuous for UL 294 access-control service. For UL 1481 fire protective signaling, the supply is rated 8 A continuous. Therefore, derate to 8 A maximum when applying the unit in any fire-alarm or NAC-extender role.
