The Wheelock BB-R backbox is a 4-inch round red surface-mount enclosure. It provides a finished mounting platform for Wheelock notification appliances.
First, the backbox attaches to a wall or ceiling. Then, the notification appliance — a horn, strobe, or combo unit — mounts directly to the box. As a result, installers get a clean surface installation in spaces where in-wall mounting isn’t practical. Therefore, the BB-R is common in retrofits and exposed-conduit installations.
