The Altronix CAM1 is a #005-keyed cam lock for Altronix indoor enclosures. Specifically, it replaces a missing or damaged cam lock on Altronix power supply, sub-assembly, and battery cabinets, restoring keyed access to the cabinet door.
First, the CAM1 ships keyed alike to the standard #005 Altronix key. Then, installers swap it into the same cabinet position the original cam lock occupied. In addition, because all standard Altronix cabinets use the same #005 keyway, one key opens an entire installation’s worth of cabinets. As a result, the CAM1 simplifies field service for technicians who carry a single key on their belt.

What the CAM1 Is — and Isn’t
However, the CAM1 is a mechanical lock accessory. Specifically, it carries no electrical agency listing of its own. Therefore, the UL listing of the host cabinet and its sub-assemblies is unaffected when the CAM1 is installed in place of the original lock. Furthermore, the CAM1 is keyed to Altronix’s standard #005 key — it is not a high-security or restricted-key product, and it should not be specified where a UL 437 high-security lock is required.
