The Bosch D8130 is a Door Release Module that connects low-voltage circuits to magnetic door holders, pilot relays, or contactor units. First, it converts a panel alarm output into two independent dry contact closures. Then those contacts drive door release and related life-safety functions.
Specifically, the D8130 provides two independent Form C dry contacts. In addition, each contact is rated 5 A for switching low-voltage loads. As a result, installers can release fire doors, recall elevators, unlock emergency exits, or shut down HVAC zones during alarm.
Where the Bosch D8130 fits
The D8130 pairs with Bosch fire-rated control communicators such as the D9412GV3 and D7412GV3. For example, it activates from the panel’s Alternate Alarm output or from the Auxiliary Relay normally open (NO) output. However, programming determines which output drives the module.
Activation timing
The D8130 contacts respond on alarm activation. Specifically, for commercial fire installations, the module operates in instant mode by default. Alternatively, an optional 14-second delay can be programmed. In addition, when the Delay option is selected, the same 14-second timing also applies at restoral.
Typical applications
The D8130 supports four core life-safety release functions per the install manual. First, magnetic fire door release per NFPA 80. Second, elevator recall to Phase I. Third, emergency exit door unlock. Finally, HVAC fan or damper shutdown for smoke control.
