The dsc (amb-500) is an addressable ceiling-mount passive infrared motion detector. Specifically, it is part of the DSC Bravo 5 family for hardwired intrusion-detection systems, not fire alarm.
First, mount the AMB-500 to the ceiling in the area to be supervised. Then, wire it to a compatible DSC addressable security panel loop. As a result, the AMB-500 reports motion events with a unique address to the host intrusion panel.

The detector uses a quad PIR element and a Fresnel lens for full 360° coverage. In addition, Multi-Level Signal Processing (MLSP) helps distinguish humans from other heat sources. Furthermore, digital temperature compensation maintains catch performance near body-ambient conditions.

Typical Application
Use the AMB-500 for indoor intrusion supervision on ceilings up to typical commercial heights. However, the AMB-500 is not a fire-alarm device. Therefore, do not connect it to a fire alarm control panel SLC or IDC loop.
