Edwards / EST (SIGA-CT2) Dual Input Module

The Edwards SIGA-CT2 is an intelligent, addressable Dual Input Module from the Edwards Signature Series. Specifically, it connects two independent Class B normally-open dry contact initiating device circuits to the Signature SLC. As a result, two conventional inputs can report individually through a single physical module.

Each of the two circuits has its own address on the loop. Therefore, the panel sees them as separate devices, with separate point IDs in the event log.

How the SIGA-CT2 Works

First, each connected device closes its dry contact when triggered. Then, the SIGA-CT2’s microprocessor evaluates each input and reports it independently to the Signature loop controller. In addition, the two circuits can use the SAME personality code or DIFFERENT personality codes. As a result, one module can serve, for example, a waterflow alarm on circuit A and a tamper switch on circuit B.

Personality Codes — Four Configurable Behaviors per Circuit

• Code 1 — Alarm, Latching: Pull stations, heat detectors, similar normally-open initiating devices.
• Code 2 — Alarm, Delayed Latching (~16 sec): Waterflow alarm switches that require a retard.
• Code 3 — Active, Non-Latching: Monitor inputs from fans, dampers, doors.
• Code 4 — Active, Latching: Supervisory and tamper switches that hold state until reset.

Codes 1, 2, 3, and 4 can be MIXED across the SIGA-CT2’s two circuits. Therefore, a single module can carry two unrelated functions.

Compatibility

The SIGA-CT2 communicates only with the Edwards Signature Loop Controller. Therefore, it works with Signature-equipped Edwards panels such as the EST3, EST3X, iO Series, and QuickStart-ES. Always confirm panel compatibility against the firmware revision in your system.

Important Application Note

The SIGA-CT2 will not support 2-wire smoke detectors. Specifically, it is designed only for dry-contact initiating devices and monitor inputs. For 2-wire smoke detection, use the appropriate Signature 2-wire smoke detector interface instead.

SIGA-CT2 vs. SIGA-CT1

If you only need ONE input circuit, the SIGA-CT1 is the lower-cost choice and uses just one address on the loop. The SIGA-CT2 is the right pick when two unrelated inputs sit close together and you can save mounting hardware and panel labels by combining them.
