The Edwards SIGA-CT1 is an intelligent, addressable Single Input Module. Specifically, it connects one Class B normally-open dry contact initiating device circuit to the Edwards Signature Series SLC. As a result, conventional contact-based devices can report through a single address on the addressable loop.

The module’s behavior is set by one of four personality codes. Therefore, the same hardware can act as an alarm input, a waterflow input, a monitor input, or a supervisory input.

How the Edwards SIGA-CT1 Works

First, the connected initiating device closes its dry contact. Then, the module’s on-board microprocessor evaluates the input and reports to the Signature loop controller. In addition, the module continues to function in stand-alone mode if loop polling stops temporarily — supporting the panel’s required fail-safe operation.

A 47K end-of-line resistor terminates the supervised initiating device circuit. Furthermore, the module uses electronic addressing — the loop controller (or the SIGA-PRO service tool) assigns the address. As a result, there are no DIP switches or rotary dials to set in the field.

Personality Codes — Four Configurable Behaviors

  • Code 1 — Alarm, Latching: For pull stations, heat detectors, and similar Class B initiating devices.
  • Code 2 — Alarm, Delayed Latching (~16 sec): For waterflow alarm switches that require a built-in retard.
  • Code 3 — Active, Non-Latching: For monitor inputs from fans, dampers, doors, and similar devices.
  • Code 4 — Active, Latching: For supervisory and tamper switches that should hold their state until reset.

Compatibility

The Edwards SIGA-CT1 communicates only with the Edwards Signature Loop Controller. Therefore, it works with Signature-equipped Edwards panels such as the EST3, EST3X, iO Series, and QuickStart-ES. Always confirm panel compatibility against the firmware revision in your system.

Important Application Note

The SIGA-CT1 will not support 2-wire smoke detectors. Specifically, it is designed only for dry-contact initiating devices and monitor inputs. For 2-wire smoke detection, use the appropriate Signature 2-wire smoke detector interface instead.
