EDWARDS (FSP502G) Conventional Fire Alarm Control Panel, 5

The Edwards FSP502G is a 5-zone conventional Fire Alarm Control Panel from the FireShield Plus family. First, it supports up to five Class B initiating device circuits (IDCs). In addition, pairs of IDCs convert to two Class A circuits for installations that need return-loop wiring.

This panel suits small to medium commercial buildings, schools, and retail spaces. As a result, it works well for both new installs and conventional retrofits. The gray cabinet design fits clean into mechanical rooms or back-of-house spaces.

Edwards FSP502G inputs and outputs

First, the panel offers five Class B IDCs. Each circuit can be configured for one of eight operating modes. Modes include alarm with or without smoke detector verification, waterflow with or without retard, supervisory latching, and monitor. Also, the panel provides two Class B notification appliance circuits (NACs) rated at 2.0 A each. Total NAC current is 3.5 A. Furthermore, each NAC can be set for Genesis, Continuous, or Temporal output. The Genesis mode synchronizes connected horns and strobes without an external Signal Master.

Compatible detectors and accessories

The FSP502G supports EC, C2M, EDW, and 6200 Series conventional detectors. Then, for remote annunciation, the serial bus drives up to two FSRSI, FSRZI-A, FSRZI-SA, or FSRA10 modules. In addition, the F-DACT dialer mounts inside the panel and supports SIA 4/2 and Contact ID reporting. The FSRRM24 relay module adds five Form C relays for zone or common-system signaling.

Model variants in the FSP502 family

The “G” suffix means gray cabinet without integrated dialer. Other variants include FSP502GD (gray, factory dialer), FSP502R (red, no dialer), and FSP502RD (red, factory dialer). Therefore, if buyers need a red enclosure or built-in DACT, they should specify the matching suffix.
