The Edwards EG1T is a white Genesis trim plate with no lettering. First, it adapts a Genesis G1 series horn, strobe, or horn-strobe to oversized electrical openings. As a result, the appliance can mount cleanly on box sizes larger than the standard 1-gang flush opening.

The trim plate covers oversized openings on these boxes: two-gang, 4-inch square, and 4-inch octagonal. In addition, it works with European single-gang openings. Therefore, retrofit installs that inherit oversized cutouts from earlier appliances can use this plate to avoid re-cutting drywall.

What the EG1T is, and is not

The EG1T is a passive aesthetic cover plate. Specifically, it is NOT a notification appliance, NOT an electrical component, and NOT a UL-listed device on its own. As a result, it carries no standalone UL or NFPA listing. Instead, it inherits the system listing from the Genesis G1 appliance it covers.

Installation note

For standard 1-gang flush installs, no trim plate is needed. The Genesis appliance mounts directly to the box. Use the EG1T only when the box opening is larger than 1-gang.
