The Eaton ELSPKBB-W is a Wheelock Eluxa surface-mount speaker backbox in white. It is the dedicated wall backbox accessory for the Eluxa speaker (ELSPK), speaker-strobe (ELSPST), and low-frequency sounder/sounder-strobe (ELFHN/ELFHS) wall appliances.
First, the backbox provides a clean surface-mount option for the Eluxa wall family. Then, it accepts the standard hinged Eluxa mounting plate and screw terminal wiring. As a result, the installer can mount Eluxa wall appliances on a finished surface without cutting in a flush single-gang or 4-inch square box.
Eaton ELSPKBB-W Application
The ELSPKBB-W is used when flush mounting is not practical. For example, retrofit installations, concrete or block walls, and surface-mounted electrical runs all benefit from a dedicated surface backbox. Therefore, the ELSPKBB-W keeps the Eluxa appliance profile clean without exposing field wiring.

- Eluxa speakers: ELSPK series (ELSPKR, ELSPKW, etc.)
- Eluxa speaker strobes: ELSPST series (ELSPSTR, ELSPSTW, etc.)
- Eluxa low-frequency sounders and sounder-strobes: ELFHN, ELFHS
Color and Construction
The “W” suffix denotes a white housing matched to the white Eluxa appliance line. Also, the matching red version is ELSPKBB-R. In addition, the ceiling backbox equivalents are LSPKBB-CW (white) and LSPKBB-CR (red) — note that those are a different SKU family for ceiling-mount Eluxa appliances.
Ordering Notes
Confirm the appliance family before ordering. Specifically, the ELSPKBB-W is the WALL surface backbox per Eaton TD450157EN, TD450158EN, and TD450159EN. However, for ceiling-mount Eluxa appliances, order the LSPKBB-CW backbox instead. Furthermore, the standard Eluxa horn/horn-strobe wall family (ELHN/ELHS/ELST) uses ELSBB-R or ELSBB-W as its dedicated wall backbox — a separate SKU that fits the smaller 4.79 inch wall housing.
