The Potter Electric Signal EVD-2 is a UL and ULC listed electronic vibration detector system. It protects safes, vaults, ATMs, and bank installations from attack. First, the system pairs an EVD-M controller with an EVD-R remote pickup. As a result, technicians get a complete primary-protection kit for mercantile and bank applications.
Potter Electric Signal EVD-2 detection capabilities
The EVD-M controller uses sophisticated microprocessor signal processing. Specifically, it detects short-duration, large-amplitude attacks like hammering, chiseling, and explosions. In addition, it senses long-duration, low-amplitude attacks from torches, drills, and grinders. Therefore, the system covers the full range of common safe and vault threats.
One controller supports up to fifteen EVD-R remote pickups. Furthermore, the EVD-M fully supervises remote pickup wiring across the loop. Also, integrators may install an EVD-M as a stand-alone single-detector unit.

Coverage and installation
For steel safes, one detector covers up to 96 inches of linear distance. However, composite safes allow up to 110 inches per detector. As the safe size grows, additional EVD-R remotes extend coverage. Specifically, larger safes need two, three, or more detectors per the Potter spacing table.
Install the EVD-2 per UL standard 681. First, mount detectors at recommended locations and spacings. Then, wire all detectors and door contacts with high-security cable. Finally, connect the system to a UL listed burglar control unit with at least four hours of standby power.
Ordering reference
The EVD-2 ships as stock number 2020300. Each system contains one EVD-M controller (stock 2020250) and one EVD-R remote pickup (stock 2020260). For optional remote test and annunciation, add the RTA module (stock 2000073).
