The Fire-Lite D365PL is an intelligent, non-relay photoelectric duct smoke detector. Specifically, it monitors HVAC ductwork for smoke in commercial buildings. The D365PL is the current replacement for the older D355PL.
In addition, the D365PL is fully addressable on Fire-Lite intelligent fire alarm panels. As a result, the panel pinpoints exactly which duct sensor is in alarm.
How the Fire-Lite D365PL Detects Smoke in Ducts
The D365PL uses a photoelectric sensing chamber. Then, it monitors air drawn from the duct through a sampling tube. Therefore, smoke is caught before it spreads through the HVAC system.
Furthermore, the detector uses integrated low-flow technology. As a result, it operates across a wide air-velocity range. Specifically, it works from 100 ft/min to 4,000 ft/min (0.5 m/s to 20.32 m/s).
Easier Installation, Better Service Access
The sampling tube installs from either the front or back of the housing. Also, no tools are required for tube insertion.
In addition, the housing supports square or rectangular orientation. Therefore, installers can mount it on either pipe axis.
Furthermore, code wheels for setting the device address sit on the sensor head. Specifically, the wheels are accessible from the front. Also, the clear cover lets technicians inspect the chamber without opening the unit.
