The Edwards G1VWF is a fixed-output Genesis wall strobe in a low-profile white housing with FIRE marking. First, it provides two discrete light outputs: 15 cd and 75 cd. The 15 cd output meets UL 1971 for hearing-impaired notification. In addition, the 75 cd output meets UL 1638 for general visual signaling. As a result, installers can select the appropriate output for the application during wiring.
This is a fixed-output device. Specifically, the Edwards G1VWF is NOT a field-selectable multi-candela strobe. Therefore, do not confuse it with the G1F-VM, which offers 15/30/75/110 cd selection. The fixed design simplifies inventory for projects that standardize on two cd values.
Verified Electrical Specifications
The Edwards G1VWF operates on filtered 16 to 33 VDC or unfiltered 16 to 33 VFWR. Furthermore, typical strobe current at 24 VDC is 122 mA RMS. At 16 VDC, current rises to 160 mA RMS for sizing budgets. Also, the strobe flashes at one flash per second when used with a compatible synchronization source.
Synchronization Sources
For coordinated multi-strobe installations, use a G1M Signal Master or SIGA-CC1S/SIGA-MCC1S intelligent sync module. Then strobes within the same field of view stay within UL 1971 sync tolerance. However, the G1VWF is a 2-wire NAC appliance, not an addressable SLC device. Therefore, do not specify it for direct addressable loop wiring.
Mounting
The G1VWF mounts to a 2-1/2 inch deep one-gang flush electrical box. Alternatively, use the model 27193 surface-mount box for exposed installations. For oversized openings (two-gang, 4 inch square, or octagonal), add an optional G1T trim plate. Dimensions are approximately 4-1/2 inches high by 2-3/4 inches wide by 13/16 inch deep.
Housing and Finish
The housing is color-impregnated engineered plastic in white finish, exceeding UL 94V-0 flammability. Also, the FIRE marking is integral, not a label. As a result, the marking will not peel or fade over the device life. The clear lens is optical-grade polycarbonate.
