GENTEX (GSW) (904-0633-002) Strobe Only, Selectable C

The Gentex GSW (Gentex part number 904-0633-002) is a low-profile, 24 VDC selectable-candela strobe with a white faceplate. It is part of the Gentex Commander 5 GS/GHS Series.

First, the GSW provides field-selectable candela settings of 15, 30, 75, 115, 150, and 177 cd. Then, those settings can be locked with tamperproof switches. As a result, one part number covers most NFPA 72 visual notification coverage tables.

Gentex GSW Specifications

The strobe operates over 16–33 VDC (24 VDC nominal). In addition, it flashes at 1 Hz regardless of input voltage. The 15 cd setting draws 28 mA (35 mA UL Max) at 24 VDC. Furthermore, the 177 cd setting draws 117 mA (162 mA UL Max).

Unit dimensions are 5.91″ × 5.91″ × 2.56″ (15.0 × 15.0 × 6.5 cm). Input terminals accept 12–18 AWG wire. The mounting bracket fits a single-gang, double-gang, or 4″ double workbox with an adapter plate.

Installation Notes

Operating temperature is 32 °F to 120 °F (0 °C to 49 °C). However, the Gentex GSW is not listed for outdoor use. For outdoor applications, choose a WSSPK Series or other outdoor-listed appliance instead. Additionally, this appliance is not recommended for coded or pulsing signaling circuits. For temporal-4 synchronization, pair the GSW with the Gentex GTSM Control Module.
