The Hochiki HEC3-24WR is a low-profile wall-mount horn/strobe for indoor commercial fire alarm systems. Specifically, it combines a multi-candela selectable strobe with a multi-tone horn in one appliance. As a result, one SKU covers many job specs. The unit runs on 24 VDC nominal and mounts in red on a wall.

Field-Selectable Tones and Candela
The HEC3-24WR uses tamperproof field switches to set candela. Specifically, the strobe outputs 15, 30, 60, 75, or 110 cd from a single SKU. In addition, the horn switches between four tones (2400 Hz, mechanical, chime, whoop) and two patterns (continuous, temporal 3). As a result, the installer matches the unit to the spec without restocking.
For sync operation, use the Hochiki Series Control Module (not HAVSM — HAVSM is for 12 VDC HE Series units only). The strobe can be silenced while audibles continue, or vice versa.
Installation Notes
The HEC3-24WR ships with a 4″ metal mounting plate and the popular Slide feature. Therefore, the installer can prewire the system, test supervision, and install the signal head later. The locking mechanism secures the device without exposed screws. The unit is listed for INDOOR use only. For outdoor applications, instead specify the Hochiki HE Series in the appropriate outdoor enclosure.
