The Hochiki HSC-221L is a 6-inch conventional detector base with an integrated alarm LED. It runs on 24 VDC and operates on 2-wire circuits.
First, the base provides a current-limited circuit for the detector head. Then the latching annunciator keeps the LED lit after the alarm condition clears. As a result, technicians can find tripped devices fast.
How the Hochiki HSC-221L Works
The HSC-221L latches the LED on alarm and holds it until panel reset. In addition, it mounts on a 4-inch octagonal or 4-inch square electrical box. Therefore, retrofits onto existing wiring are simple.
Furthermore, the latching circuit means the alarm indicator stays visible even after the smoke clears. Specifically, this matches the typical commissioning workflow during system testing.
