The Notifier LCM-320 is a Loop Control Module that adds one Signaling Line Circuit (SLC) to the NFS-3030 or NFS2-3030. Specifically, it is the building block for adding addressable loops to these ONYX series panels. As a result, system designers can scale a single panel to 10 SLC loops.

Each NFS-3030 or NFS2-3030 supports up to five LCM-320 modules. In addition, each LCM-320 can take one LEM-320 expander to add a second loop. Therefore, a fully loaded panel runs five LCM-320s plus five LEM-320s, for a total of 10 SLCs.

How the Notifier LCM-320 wires the SLC

The maximum SLC wiring distance is 12,500 feet at 12 AWG twisted-unshielded pair. Furthermore, shorter wire gauges reduce reach proportionally. As a result, 18 AWG covers about 3,225 feet on a Class B (Style 4) loop.

Each LCM-320 plugs into the panel — installation is plug-in style. Also, built-in degraded mode keeps loops operating after a panel CPU fault. However, the LCM-320 is for NFS-3030 / NFS2-3030 ONLY. The NFS-640 / NFS2-640 takes the LEM-320 directly to add a second loop.
