The Fire-Lite MMF-302 is an addressable monitor module that interfaces conventional 2-wire smoke detectors to a Fire-Lite addressable panel. Specifically, it powers and monitors one Style B (Class B) initiating device circuit. In addition, it includes a polling LED for visible device status.
Therefore, a single MMF-302 can supervise a full zone of compatible 2-wire detectors. As a result, you bring older conventional detection into an addressable system without replacing the heads.
How the Fire-Lite MMF-302 Reports to the Panel
The module transmits one of three states back to the panel — normal, open, or alarm. First, rotary switches set the module’s address on the loop. Then, the panel polls the module like any other addressable device.
Furthermore, the integrated polling LED blinks on each successful poll. As a result, technicians can confirm communication at the device.
What the MMF-302 Monitors
The MMF-302 supports compatible 2-wire smoke detectors from Fire-Lite’s device compatibility document #15384. Specifically, that document lists every detector model approved for this module.
In addition, the IDC terminates in a 47K ohm end-of-line resistor (supplied). Therefore, the panel can detect wiring opens on the monitored circuit.
