The Secutron MRI-4010 is an intelligent photoelectric smoke detector for Secutron MRI-4000 series addressable fire alarm panels. It continuously checks air obscuration and reports the reading to the panel. Specifically, all MRI-4000 series sensors communicate over a fully digital protocol. As a result, the panel always knows each detector’s status and exact address.
How the Secutron MRI-4010 Works
The detector samples the air through a photoelectric sensing chamber. Then it transmits obscuration levels to the fire alarm control panel. Sensitivity is selected at the panel, with four levels from 2.0 to 3.5 %/ft. In addition, advanced software algorithms protect against nuisance alarms caused by dust, insects, or other debris.
Each device occupies one address from 1 to 240 on the SLC loop. Set the address with the MIX-4090 hand-held programmer before placing the detector on its base. Furthermore, a panel-controlled remote output can drive an RA100Z remote LED. However, the remote indicator needs at least 18 V at the detector.

Compatibility and Options
This detector must be used with an MRI-4000 series compatible Secutron control panel. It also works alongside the full series of MRI-4000 input and control modules. Alternatively, choose the MRI-4010-ISO version with a built-in bi-directional short-circuit isolator. The isolator protects the loop against wiring faults. Note that each isolator-equipped device reduces allowable loop resistance by 0.22 ohms. Finally, Secutron lists UL, ULC, CSFM, and FM agency approvals for this detector line.
