The Secutron MRI-4030 is an intelligent tri-mode heat detector for Secutron MRI-4000 series addressable fire alarm panels. It continuously measures ambient temperature and reports it to the panel. Specifically, all MRI-4000 series devices communicate over a fully digital protocol. Therefore, the panel always knows each detector’s reading and exact address.
Secutron MRI-4030 Operating Modes
The detector offers three panel-selected modes. First, fixed heat detection at 135°F (57°C). Second, fixed heat detection at 175°F (79°C). Alternatively, choose 135°F with rate-of-rise operation per UL 268. The mode is set at the panel through its configuration tool.
Keep placement in mind. Secutron requires ambient temperatures at least 20°F (10°C) below the alarm setting. In addition, long-term ambient should not exceed 120°F (49°C). Avoid rate-of-rise mode near heated entrances with large temperature swings.
Each device takes one address from 1 to 240 on the SLC loop. Set the address with the MIX-4090 hand-held programmer before mounting. Furthermore, a panel-controlled remote output can drive an RA100Z remote LED. However, the remote indicator needs at least 18 V at the detector.

Compatibility and Options
This detector must be used with an MRI-4000 series compatible Secutron control panel. It also works with the full series of MRI-4000 input and control modules. Alternatively, the MRI-4030-ISO version adds a bi-directional short-circuit isolator against wiring faults. Each isolator-equipped device reduces allowable loop resistance by 0.22 ohms. Finally, Secutron lists UL, ULC, CSFM, and FM agency approvals for this detector line.
