The Notifier NCM-W is the wire-media Network Communications Module for NOTI·FIRE·NET (NFN). Specifically, it provides the network interface for intelligent NOTIFIER fire alarm panels, NCA / NCA-2 annunciators, and ONYXWorks workstations. As a result, fire alarm technicians can build a peer-to-peer life safety network across a single building or multi-building campus.
Order one NCM per network node. For example, each CPU-640, CPU-3030, CPU2-640, CPU2-3030, NCA, NCA-2, or DVC needs its own NCM. In addition, the NCM-W uses twisted-pair copper for the NFN trunk. However, fiber installs require the NCM-F instead.

- Distance: up to 3,000 ft (914 m) between adjacent nodes
- Topology: open or closed (loop) network operation
- Transformer-coupled inputs for electrical isolation between nodes
- Two network ports for trunk + side-load connection (programming PC)
- Pluggable terminal blocks with strain relief
- On-board EOL resistors and ground-fault detection (DIP-switch enabled)
Installation notes
NCM-W port-to-port wiring is not polarity sensitive. Therefore, Port A and Port B are interchangeable on the trunk. Furthermore, data is regenerated at every node, which extends total network reach beyond the per-segment limit.
