The sg-42sk2-ny is a SigCom / Protectowire die-cast metal single-action pull station finished in the New York stripe pattern. It is used where the NYC marking convention is specified.
Construction and Activation
First, the housing is die-cast metal, not plastic. As a result, the unit resists impact and tampering better than a polymer station. Then, the activation is a single-action mechanical pull lever. In addition, the yellow and black diagonal stripe finish matches the NYC convention for manual fire alarm stations.
Panel Compatibility
The sg-42sk2-ny outputs a dry contact closure. Therefore, it interfaces with most fire alarm control panels through a conventional zone or an addressable monitor module. However, addressable-loop integration is not native — the panel side requires a monitor module on its SLC.
Always confirm the listing markings on the unit you receive. Specifically, the SG-42SK family spans generations with varying UL marking conventions, and the appropriate markings should be verified against the AHJ-required listings before installation.
Typical Applications
Common installations include corporate offices, schools, healthcare facilities, hotels, and municipal buildings where the NYC stripe pattern is required or preferred. Also, the station is a routine retrofit choice when an older NY-stripe station is taken out of service.
