The Notifier FPTI-951 is a plug-in multi-criteria addressable detector for FlashScan SLC loops. Specifically, the FPTI-951 combines photoelectric smoke, fixed-temperature heat, and infrared sensors in one detector head. As a result, the algorithm uses three inputs to confirm a real fire and reject nuisance sources.
First, the photoelectric sensor reads airborne smoke particles. Then, the thermal sensor watches for a 135 °F fixed-temperature threshold and rate-of-rise. In addition, the infrared sensor reads light patterns in the environment as a third data point. Therefore, nuisance alarms drop compared to single-technology detection.
Notifier FPTI-951 electrical specs
The detector draws SLC power from 15 to 32 VDC. Specifically, standby current is 200 µA at 24 VDC. In addition, alarm current at 24 VDC is 2 mA. Furthermore, the maximum current at 24 VDC is 4.5 mA.
The FPTI-951 replaces the older FAPT-851 multi-criteria detector in retrofit installations. As a result, integrators can upgrade legacy plug-in bases while keeping the same loop architecture.
Compatibility and finish
First, the FPTI-951 operates on Notifier SLC with the FlashScan protocol. Then, the white -W version pairs with standard ceiling color. Alternatively, the FPTI-951-IV is offered for ivory finishes.
