The Macurco OX-6 is a low-voltage oxygen (O2) fixed gas detector, controller, and transducer. First, it monitors oxygen from 0 to 25% by volume. In addition, it offers selectable 4-20 mA output, an internal buzzer, and a digital display. Therefore, it serves as a standalone control point or a transducer to a larger system.
Macurco OX-6 power and relays
Input power is 12-24 VAC or 12-32 VDC. Also, the unit provides a 5 A SPDT fan-control relay and a 0.5 A N.O./N.C. alarm relay. As a result, it directly drives ventilation fans or signals an alarm panel. Then setpoints can be tuned to facility requirements.
Fan relay setpoints
Fan-relay actuation is selectable at 18.0, 18.1, 20.2 (default), 20.3, 20.4, and 20.5% v/v. In addition, a high alarm preset triggers at 23.5% v/v. Specifically, this protects against both depletion and enrichment events.
Mounting and environment
The OX-6 mounts on a contractor-supplied 4×4 electrical box. However, do not install where ambient temperature is below 0°F or above 125°F. Furthermore, do not use the OX-6 as a smoke or fire detector. Finally, typical applications include wastewater plants, hospitals, factories, and storage facilities.
