The System Sensor PIBV2 is a supervisory switch for post indicator and butterfly valves. It monitors the open position of these water supply control valves. As a result, it warns when a valve closes and disables sprinkler protection.
The switch fits sprinkler systems in commercial and institutional buildings. For example, it protects hospitals, schools, warehouses, and offices. Specifically, it reports valve tampering or accidental closure to the fire alarm panel.
System Sensor PIBV2 Construction
The mechanism sits in a weatherproof die-cast metal housing. In addition, a bi-directional actuator supports both rising and falling flag installations. The housing provides a 1/2-inch conduit entry and a 1/2-inch NPT nipple for valve attachment.
Tamper-resistant cover screws also guard against unauthorized entry. When the actuator is mounted vertically, the PIBV2 carries a NEMA 3R rating per UL.
