Siemens ZU-35 Dual Zone Module (500-888583)

The Siemens ZU-35 Dual Zone Module (part number 500-888583) is a legacy System 3 component designed to provide two fully supervised, independent initiating circuits within a single module space. The ZU-35 supports up to thirty standard ionization or photoelectric detectors per zone, as well as an unlimited quantity of shorting-type contact devices such as manual pull stations and thermal detectors, which may be freely intermixed on each circuit.

Wiring connections are made via screw terminals and the module supports either NFPA Class A (Style D) or Class B (Style B) circuit configurations. When a detector or shorting device activates, the ZU-35 locks into alarm, triggering the System 3 sequential response functions — which may include sounding audibles, operating transmitters, recalling elevators, closing doors, and shutting down HVAC equipment.

A red Alarm LED and a yellow Trouble LED on the module face provide at-a-glance status for each detection circuit. The module occupies one slot in the System 3 rail structure, interconnecting via a ten-pin plug and harness assembly. Dimensions: 2 × 4 × 1.5 in. Operating temperature: 0°C to 49°C. UL listed and FM approved.
