The Edwards SIGA-MIO is the UIO plug-in variant of the SIGA-IO Input/Output Module. It is an intelligent analog-addressable Signature Series module. Furthermore, the SIGA-MIO plugs into a SIGA-UIO2R or SIGA-UIO6R motherboard for high-density installations.
Edwards SIGA-MIO — programmable function via personality code
The actual operation of the SIGA-MIO is determined by the personality code selected by the installer. Personality codes are downloaded from the Signature loop controller during system configuration. In addition, the SIGA-MIO supports ten selectable personality codes, in the range 31 through 40. Depending on personality, the module provides: input with normally-open OR normally-closed alarm relay output, latching or non-latching alarm inputs, or output-with-monitor-input modes.
Personality code groups
Codes 31-32: output with monitor input. Codes 33-40: input with programmable relay output (Form A or Form B), latching or non-latching, active or alarm. Also, the installer can set the expected response time from 5 to 120 seconds for maximum flexibility.
Electrical specifications
Operating voltage: 15.2 to 19.95 VDC (19 VDC nominal) from the Signature SLC. Standby current: 250 µA. Activated current: 430 µA. Furthermore, the module uses ONE module address per device. Initiating Device Circuit: 47K ohm UL/ULC-listed end-of-line resistor; max circuit resistance 50 ohms (25 ohms per wire); max capacitance 0.1 µF.
Relay output ratings (pilot duty)
Relay type: Form A or Form B (configurable per personality code). 24 VDC: 2 A. 120 VAC: 0.5 A. Wire terminations: #12 to #18 AWG (2.5 mm² to 0.75 mm²).
Mounting and motherboard
The SIGA-MIO plugs into a SIGA-UIO2R (two-position) or SIGA-UIO6R (six-position) motherboard ONLY. Then all field wiring connections terminate at the motherboard, not the module. On-board green LED flashes when polled; on-board red LED flashes when in alarm or active state. Furthermore, the module is UL, ULC, MEA, and CSFM listed when installed in a compatible Signature system.

Operating temperature: 32 to 120°F (0 to 49°C). Operating humidity: 0 to 93% RH. Storage temperature: -4 to 140°F (-20 to 60°C). Construction: high-impact engineering polymer. Shipping weight: 0.22 lb (0.10 kg).
