The Silent Knight 5496 is a distributed power module for Silent Knight addressable fire alarm panels. Specifically, it adds power and notification circuits over the SBUS. As a result, large systems gain capacity without overloading the main panel.
What the Silent Knight 5496 adds
The 5496 provides 6 amps of total notification capacity. In addition, it offers four output circuits. Furthermore, each circuit is rated 3.0 amps. Installers can configure each circuit as a notification appliance circuit or as auxiliary power.
The module carries its own AC connection. Then it includes a battery charging circuit and a backup battery. As a result, it powers extra notification appliances on its own.
System connection
The 5496 connects to the panel over the Silent Knight SBUS. Therefore, it places power close to the appliances it serves. This distributed approach reduces voltage drop across long notification runs.

This listing is the complete 5496 module. However, the bare replacement board ships separately as the 54960.
