The Simplex 2190-9039 fire alarm desktop printer receives communications and 24 VDC power from its host fire alarm control panel over a 3-wire RS-232 connection, producing a printed record of all system status changes. Voltage input is 24 VDC nominal; standby power draw is 0.5 A and printing draw is 1.2 A. The 2190-9039 uses 40-column dot matrix technology with two-color printing: black for supervisory and trouble events, red for alarm conditions. Print speed is 60 characters per second. The unit measures 7″ × 3-7/8″ × 10-5/16″ (W × H × D) and weighs approximately 5 lbs. Operating temperature range is 32° to 120°F (0° to 49°C); humidity rating is 85% non-condensing.
The 2190-9039 uses 2-3/4″ (70 mm) wide paper rolls up to 3″ (76 mm) in diameter (replacement paper: 2190-9041). Replacement ribbon (2190-9040) has a typical life of 50,000 characters. A hinged cover provides easy access for paper and ribbon replacement. Harnesses are supplied for wiring into both the printer and the control panel.
