The Simplex 4098-9780 is a 2-wire TrueAlarm sensor base supplied without the relay installed. First, it provides the mounting platform for a Simplex TrueAlarm photoelectric or heat sensor. Then it connects that sensor to the fire alarm panel over a single wire pair. As a result, the sensor draws both power and data across MAPNET II or IDNet wiring.
Simplex 4098-9780 sensor base overview
This base is the relay-capable version, but it ships with no relay fitted. Therefore you add the matching Simplex relay accessory separately when relay output is required. Meanwhile, the base itself handles sensor mounting, addressing, and communication. In addition, the plug-in sensor head twist-locks into place for quick service.
Technicians use the 4098-9780 to replace a damaged base without swapping the sensor head. Furthermore, it keeps an existing TrueAlarm point on the loop intact. Also, it suits commercial and institutional sites such as offices, schools, and healthcare facilities.
