SKU: SL-701-KIT Brand:

The Potter Electric Signal SL-701-KIT is a complete carbon monoxide duct detector kit for HVAC systems. Importantly, this is a CO detector, not a smoke detector. It detects carbon monoxide moving through duct supply, return, or both. As a result, it warns building occupants before CO spreads into occupied spaces.

What the Potter Electric Signal SL-701-KIT detects

This kit uses a UL Listed electrochemical CO sensor. Specifically, the sensor responds to carbon monoxide levels deemed hazardous by OSHA and the NFPA. In addition, the detector stores retrievable historical data to help trace contamination sources. The sensor lasts about six years under normal conditions. Furthermore, the unit runs a hidden self-test every 24 hours.

What is included in the kit

  • SL-701 duct carbon monoxide detector
  • FAST Tube sectional air-sampling tube and 7″ exhaust tube
  • MSR-50/CO remote accessory with audible and LED strobe indication
  • Sampling tube end cap, mounting template, and mounting hardware
  • Remote test capability and installation instructions

First, install the detector on the duct using the included template and hardware. Then add sampling tubes sized to the duct width. Also, you can interconnect up to 30 units for common functions. However, this CO detector supplements, and does not replace, required open-area CO detectors. Finally, connect it to a combination CO/fire alarm control unit for public-mode notification.
