The System Sensor SPCRV is a high-volume, ceiling-mount fire alarm speaker in red. First, it broadcasts voice messages and tones for emergency communication systems. Specifically, the “V” suffix marks a high-decibel output. As a result, it suits spaces with loud ambient noise.
System Sensor SPCRV features
This SpectrAlert Advance speaker uses a dual-voltage transformer. Therefore, it operates at either 25 or 70.7 Vrms. In addition, a rotary switch sets the power tap. You can pick 1/4, 1/2, 1, or 2 watts in the field. Also, the frequency range spans 400 to 4,000 Hz.
At 2 watts, the SPCRV produces 90 dBA at 10 feet. Lower taps measure 87, 84, and 81 dBA. Furthermore, the speaker is listed to UL 1480 for fire protective service. However, this model carries no strobe.
Installation and specifications
First, attach a universal mounting plate to a 4 x 4 x 2-1/8 inch back box. Then connect the speaker wiring to the plate terminals. Finally, plug in the speaker and secure it. As a result, flush mounts need no extension ring.
The red housing measures 6.8 inches in diameter and 2.9 inches deep. In addition, it operates from 32F to 120F. Humidity tolerance reaches 93% non-condensing.
