The STI STI-9602 is a low profile Steel Web Stopper® for surface-mounted smoke detectors. This UL Listed wire guard prevents misuse, tampering, and accidental damage. However, it never blocks smoke from reaching the detector.
STI based the patented design (D368,670) on a spider’s web. Specifically, a web-like octagon of 9-gauge steel wire makes the cage extremely difficult to break. In addition, a corrosion-resistant polyester coating protects the steel.

Dimensions are 8.9 in H x 8.9 in W x 4.5 in D. Also, the guard removes simply for routine detector servicing.

For flush-mounted low profile detectors, choose the STI-9601 instead. For high profile detectors, step up to the STI-9610 surface-mount cage. Optional KIT-82 tamper-resistant screws, the KIT-19038 spanner bit, and the STI-8171 mounting backplate are available.
