The STI STI-9712 is a surface-mount Steel Web Stopper® for photoelectric smoke detectors. This UL Listed wire guard prevents misuse, tampering, and accidental damage. However, the open web never blocks smoke from reaching the detector.
STI based the patented design (D368,670) on a spider’s web. Specifically, a web-like octagon of 9-gauge steel wire makes the cage extremely difficult to break. In addition, a corrosion-resistant polyester coating protects the steel.

For flush-mounted photoelectric detectors, choose the STI-9713 instead. Optional KIT-81 and KIT-82 tamper-resistant screws, the KIT-19038 tamper bit, and KIT-H19020 steel clamps are available.
