The Vesda VES-A10-P-UL is a VESDA-E VES sector-addressable aspirating smoke detector. Specifically, it samples air through four pipes and shows status on a 3.5-inch display. First, the detector draws air from the protected area. Then, it tests that air for very early signs of smoke.
This model treats each of its four pipes as a separate sector. As a result, one zone can split into four monitored areas. For example, it can tell apart separate aisles in a data room. In addition, each pipe has four alarm thresholds: Alert, Action, Fire 1, and Fire 2.
How the Vesda VES-A10-P-UL detects smoke
The detector uses Flair laser-based detection technology. Therefore, it delivers very early warning with strong dust rejection. Furthermore, it runs on 18 to 30 VDC, with 24 VDC nominal. Also, the total pipe length can reach 560 m (1,837 ft).
