The Vesda VSP-974 is a replacement rotary valve for the VESDA VEA addressable aspirating detector. The VEA samples each microbore tube in sequence. The rotary valve directs airflow through that sampling process. Therefore, it is central to address-by-address sampling.

First, the VEA draws air from many sampling points. Then the rotary valve selects each point in turn. As a result, the detector can identify which sampling point sees smoke. Over time, this moving part may require replacement during maintenance.
