The Edwards WG4WF-H is an outdoor-rated wall- or ceiling-mount fire alarm horn. Specifically, it is the white, FIRE-marked, horn-only model in the Genesis WG4 weatherproof signaling family.

First, the WG4WF-H provides high-output audible signaling for exterior or wet-location applications. Then its weatherproof housing protects the horn against rain and condensation. As a result, it can serve as a notification appliance in parking structures, loading docks, exterior building entries, and similar locations.

Required mounting hardware

For waterproof installations, the Edwards Model 449 weatherproof back box is required. The 449 box is sold separately and must be specified at the same time as the appliance. Without the 449 box, the appliance loses its outdoor environmental rating.

What this device is NOT

• It is not a horn/strobe combination — there is no strobe in this model. For combined audible-visual outdoor notification, use the WG4WF-HVMC (15/29/70/87 cd) or WG4WF-HVMHC (high-candela) variants.
• It is not for indoor-only NAC circuits where a standard G1F-HD horn would suffice — the WG4WF-H is specifically the weatherproof variant.

Application

Typical applications include exterior building perimeters, parking structures, loading docks, transportation terminals, and other exposed locations where indoor signaling appliances would fail. Furthermore, for full waterproof compliance, the installer must specify the Model 449 back box on the same order.
