The CWSI CWSI-MHW is a wireless fire transmitter that monitors a hardwired tamper-switch input. First, the device wires to a sprinkler tamper or supervisory contact on a riser. Then it reports the contact state wirelessly back to the CWSI fire alarm panel.
Specifically, the CWSI-MHW operates inside the CWSI wireless fire alarm system. In addition, it uses 900 MHz Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) technology with bi-directional RF communication. As a result, the transmitter integrates into the same network as CWSI’s pull stations, smoke detectors, and notification appliances.
Where the CWSI CWSI-MHW fits
The CWSI-MHW is built for retrofit and new wireless fire alarm installs. For example, it adds supervisory monitoring for sprinkler tampers, gate valves, and other contact-output devices on the riser. However, this transmitter only functions inside the CWSI ecosystem. Therefore, verify panel and repeater coverage at the install site first.
Network architecture
First, the CWSI network uses Repeater Network Architecture to extend coverage across multi-floor buildings. Then 200-Second Supervisory Polling confirms each device remains alive. In addition, the bi-directional radio link permits return acknowledgment from the panel back to the field device.
Listings and approvals
The CWSI wireless fire alarm system holds UL and FM approvals at the system level. In addition, FCC Part 15 covers the 900 MHz radio. However, system-level fire-alarm listings apply through the panel, not at the individual transmitter level. Confirm the specific approvals on your current job submittal.
