The Genesis 21015801 is a 22 AWG, 2-conductor solid riser communications cable from Southwire’s Genesis® line. It carries a Type CMR riser rating only. As a result, this cable is intended for security, access control, intercom, and audio circuits. It is NOT FPLR fire alarm rated. The cable ships in a 500-foot speed bag with a white PVC jacket.

The construction uses bare copper solid conductors with polypropylene insulation. In addition, the outer jacket is standard PVC. Furthermore, the cable is rated for 300 volts maximum. Also, a rip cord assists jacket stripping at terminations. Conductor colors are typically black and red for polarity identification.

Installation Notes
First, the CMR rating allows installation in vertical risers per NEC Article 800. However, this cable is NOT power-limited fire-alarm (FPLR) rated. Therefore, do not specify it on fire alarm initiating, signaling, or notification circuits. As a result, installers should use a Genesis FPLR-rated cable (such as the 43xxx series) for any fire alarm application.
