Edwards (277B-1110) Pull station, noncoded, double action, break glass, plastic, single pole, open circuit, wire leads

The Edwards 277B-1110 is a single-action, break-glass pull station with 6-inch wire leads, single-pole open contacts, and tool reset. First, the user breaks the glass rod to trip the alarm. Then, the latched contact must be reset with a flat tool through the front of the housing. As a result, the station deters casual restoration after activation.

Specifically, the 277B body matches the 276B body but trades screw terminals for 6-inch (150 mm) flying wire leads. Therefore, the 277B suits installations where the back box is crowded or where lead splicing is preferred over terminal landings. In addition, the “1110” suffix identifies the single-pole open, tool-reset variant of the 277B family.

Use the 277B-1110 on conventional fire alarm initiating circuits in offices, schools, healthcare buildings, and similar commercial occupancies. Furthermore, the station supports semi-flush or surface mounting. For semi-flush, fit a 4-inch North American square box with a single-gang plaster cover at least 2-1/4 inches (57 mm) deep.

The 277B-1110 is noncoded, so the station closes its contact without sending a coded signal. However, the host panel still drives the audible and visible notification appliances on alarm. As a result, the 277B-1110 integrates cleanly with any conventional FACP that accepts a normally-open dry contact.
