Simplex 4098-5610 Combination Fixed-Temperature and Rate-of-Rise Heat Detector
The Simplex 4098-5610 is a combination 135°F fixed-temperature and rate-of-rise heat detector for Simplex addressable fire alarm systems. First, the detector trips on a sustained temperature of 135°F (57.2°C). In addition, it trips on a rapid rate-of-rise event below the fixed-temperature threshold.
Specifically, the 4098-5610 is the detector head and pairs with one of several compatible 4098-series bases. Therefore, the head and base are ordered together for a complete installation.
How the Simplex 4098-5610 Senses Heat
The 4098-5610 uses two mechanisms in one head. Furthermore, the fixed-temperature element trips at a sustained 135°F (57.2°C). In addition, the rate-of-rise element trips on a sudden temperature climb — useful for catching fast-developing fires before they hit the fixed threshold.
As a result, the detector provides both early-warning rate-of-rise response and a hard fixed-temperature backstop in one address.
