Simplex 4098-9615E — 200°F Heat Detector for Humid Environments
The Simplex 4098-9615E is a genuine OEM electronic heat detector. It pairs fixed-temperature and rate-of-rise sensing. Specifically, it activates at a fixed 200°F (93°C). Moreover, the “E” version is built for humid environments.
How the Simplex 4098-9615E responds
A dual-thermistor element reads temperature continuously. Therefore, it reacts to both a rapid rise and a fixed limit. The rate-of-rise mode suits spaces where normal temperature changes are gradual. As a result, it helps reduce nuisance alarms.
This detector connects to conventional initiating device circuits. Then it works with Simplex two-wire and four-wire bases. Its alarm output is current-limited for IDC compatibility. In addition, an alarm-indicating LED sits on the detector.
Coverage and listings
The detector offers a UL and ULC listed spacing of 70 ft (21.3 m). Furthermore, it self-restores once heat subsides. Remote alarm LED base options support two-wire or four-wire wiring.
