The Simplex 4098-9841 is a remote smoke detector relay with dual Form C contacts. Specifically, it pairs with the Simplex 4098-9688 duct smoke detector housing. As such, the relay gives the duct detector auxiliary contacts for HVAC fan shutdown, damper control, or annunciator drive. As a result, fan and damper interlocks receive a reliable dry-contact signal on alarm.
How the Simplex 4098-9841 is used
First, the relay installs as a paired accessory to the 4098-9688 duct detector. Then, the duct detector’s alarm logic actuates the relay coil. In addition, the dual Form C contacts deliver two independent switched circuits. Therefore, one set can drive HVAC shutdown while the other drives an annunciator or BAS interface.
