The Simplex 4100-1268 is the Constant Supervision NAC (CSNAC) adapter module for 4100ES and 4100U audio signaling circuits. First, it supervises Notification Appliance Circuits while the panel’s amplifier delivers either tones or voice audio. As a result, the panel can keep field wiring under constant fault supervision during normal standby and during message playback.
Specifically, the CSNAC supports both 25 VRMS and 70.7 VRMS audio output. In addition, each circuit is rated 1.4 A and up to 50 W, supporting up to 100 speakers per circuit.
Where the Simplex 4100-1268 fits
The 4100-1268 pairs with the 4100-5116 Expansion Signal (XSIG) card. Furthermore, it works with Simplex 100 W audio amplifiers and Flex amplifiers that carry constant-supervision firmware. As a result, the host panel must be running 4100U Software Revision 11.08 or higher, or 4100ES Revision 1.xx or higher.
The CSNAC has three operating modes. First, OFF — no audio is playing and field wiring is supervised. Then ON-STANDBY — audio plays while supervision continues for opens and shorts. Finally ON-ALARM — audio plays at full alarm power without supervision.
