The System Sensor 5622 is a dual-circuit mechanical heat detector. It combines a 194°F (90°C) fixed-temperature element with rate-of-rise sensing. As a result, it reacts to both rapid heat rise and sustained high temperatures.
This spot-type detector suits warmer commercial and industrial areas. Specifically, the 194°F rating fits spaces where lower-temperature detectors would nuisance-trip. For example, boiler rooms and attics often need a higher set point.
How the System Sensor 5622 Works
First, the rate-of-rise element responds when temperature climbs faster than 15°F per minute. Then the fixed-temperature element trips at a steady 194°F. Therefore, the 5622 covers both fast-developing and slow-building heat.
The dual-circuit design provides two independent circuits. As a result, the detector can serve both alarm initiation and an auxiliary function. In addition, the mechanical design needs no standby power.
