The Altronix AL842ULADA is a UL 864-listed NAC power extender for 24-volt fire alarm control panels. Specifically, it expands four supervised Notification Appliance Circuits with up to 8 A of total alarm current, supporting ADA-compliant audible and visual notification.

First, the AL842ULADA accepts two Class A or two Class B trigger inputs from any 24VDC FACP. Then, the board drives four programmable indicating circuits with regulated 24VDC. In addition, two 1 A auxiliary outputs power downstream accessories. As a result, a single AL842ULADA can extend horn-strobe coverage across a wing or floor without overloading the host panel.

Application Notes

However, 24VDC FACPs only — the AL842ULADA does not support 12V panels. Specifically, total alarm current must not exceed 8 A across all four NACs. In addition, the common-trouble input and output let installers tie external trouble signals back to the host panel.
